Social Responsibility and Outreach at Cornwall Hill CollegeThe purpose of such a program is to not only align CHC with the diversity and equity policy of ISASA, but to see this as one of the four pillars to be developed and encouraged within CHC – the others being Academics, Sport, Culture.
- To encourage a holistic approach to life with a better understanding of Diversity, Service and Social responsibility.
- To be true to our commitment to producing life-long learners who live out the values as stated in CHC’s values statement.
- To develop and grow as life-long learners who have a heart for people and the world around them.
- This program runs from Gr.000 – Gr. 12 and this portfolio is headed up by Mrs. Michelle Taylor.
Here is some of the Outreach work we are involved in.
- Klipgat Mission - Fill – a – bag, we feed 100 families per month.
- Every Friday we visit New Jerulasem House. A home for abandoned, abused, traumatized babies to 14years.
- Our 1st term fundraiser focus is always on Cancer. This year for Camp Quality.
- Walk for Bibles - We do a sponsored walk and buy bibles from the funds raised.
- Charity Ball - Our SEC’s host this every year to raise funds for our selected charities.
- Irene Middle School is a previously disadvantaged school that we support.
- Environmental Club has a focus on recyling.
Another exciting venture is the Presidents Awards program which we have joined and we are working towards becoming full members of Round Square, both are a global outreach, service and networking organizations.
